Some things are moving in a positive direction! *doing a happy dance*
I will tell you the last things first because the first thing is best or at least more developed.
Yesterday I got an email from the Spartanburg Art Museum, where I had applied to take part in that Lighten Up Spartanburg event. (remember about 2 or 3 posts back) It was neither an acceptance or a rejection, but they want more views of one of my designs, they asked some questions, and they invited me to submit more ideas too. Holy Moly!
A few minutes later, another email landed:
“Artmajeur – Your work has been selected by the editor”
Hello Sharon,
One of your artworks has been selected by the Editor: It will be listed on the “Editor’s pick” section on Artmajeur. Your image may also be featured on Artmajeur Home page.Congratulations for your selection, keep up the good work!”
They picked “Peak“!

Now to the amazing coolness at Spoonflower ~~~~~
Spoonflower is very cool anyway. It’s a form of POD site but they print fabrics. Recently they have added/connected to some other sites which make products where you can apply your Spoonflower fabrics to the items. Customers can actually apply any Spoonflower fabric to an item. I may have already explained all this further down the blog but too bad LOL.
One of the sites is the Roostery which makes home decor. Here are my fab fabs on chairs…
The other site is Sprout which does clothing and accessory patterns with the pattern printed directly on the fabric. It’s a great idea! (I’ll link to some designs in a sec). If we design something in with our fabrics we get a picture! There’s a nifty little link in Sprout which will take a picture of the dress or bag you just designed and post it on your Spoonflower page of the fabric. Hell Yeah! The Roostery is a bit more difficult but they will get that button going soon, I am sure. These pictures can also be pinned. We designers are LOVING this!
So, folks in Spoonflower have been designing up a storm so we can get these pictures. Then, a week or so ago, one of the folks got the idea to collaborate. It’s so new we don’t even have a name for the group yet. I will keep you posted. At about the speed of light, we got a group of about 15 people (last time I looked).
All the folks in the group are making combo designs with their own and another group member’s fabric. The really great part is that 15 people are all promoting each other, pinning and blogging and commenting and linking and liking. Here’s my Pinterest board of the Collaboration’s designs. Today, because of my likes doubling in the past few days, I saw one of my designs, Wicked Web, on the first page at Spoonflower, when I set the search to “trending”! The front page!!
So, check out my group people, people!
