Good Morning,

Yay, today I sold my “Rootin’ Tootin’ round up of Rodeo Candlesticks” on ebay! I love waking up to a sale. And guess what? They are going to a ranch! That’s so cool.

Today I’m going to wonder about promotions. Well I can’t afford to buy an ad so that’s out.

So far I have tried to get all my sites linked together for SEO (like I know what I’m talking about). I have linked up all my friend’s and family’s sites on my links pages. This is because I am so generous and thoughtful. (Yeah, I admit, I was hoping they would so the same for me too.)

I have used the forums at Zazzle and they have brought quite a few views. There are 2 forums I like best  – “Promoting and generating traffic” and “Show & Tell”.  I am not sure how much business the “Show and Tell” forum will help because I think it’s mainly viewed by other zazzlers. The “Promoting and generating traffic” forums seem very helpful though. There are a ton of threads going on by people who have made a Squidoo lens and are asking for products in their theme.  Every time it applies to me I hop in and add one of my products. The one thread I love in particular is called “Promo Train”. In this thread the person posting promotes the previous poster out in the web. For example, when I post, I promote folks on my Pinterest and FaceBook. I think that goes out to way more people than show and tell within Zazzle. This week, however, they are all closed for the holidays. LOL before I knew they were closed  I posted for the previous person on the “Promo Train” thread – ROFLMAO I bet she has TONS of traffic because of all the people that would have done the same thing I did.

Ok, so that’s all going on but it’s not enough is it? I heard there are places where you can put your link, but there are also sneering comments about “link farms”. I don’t want to do anything that would lower the image of my company or products. I want everything to be top quality, always.

Well, dear readers, I will keep plugging away but if you have any ideas I would love to hear them.

About sharonpassmore

Hi. I am an artist living in Greenville, South Carolina. I am the Art moderator at Eratosphere, a forum of Ablemuse Review. I play with all sorts of art-forms, including digital design and fabric design, but nearest to my heart, at the moment, is collage. I like it best if the collage materials are not recognized from a distance and reveal themselves at close up, the way a painting can look realistic from a distance but on closer inspection, the freedom of brushstrokes becomes apparent. My materials are my brushstrokes. I use anything I find in my collage that suits the purpose, beads, broken jewelry, wallpaper scraps etc... I always try to incorporate recycled packaging too. This is important to me, partly because of the environment, and partly because I get a little thrill out of recognizing the value of materials most people would discard as trash. Think of this next time you peel that wonderful foil seal off a new can of coffee. I am inspired by many kinds of traditional arts and crafts. The cultural history of the world is just loaded with fabulous treasure, isn't it? I view the world of art and art history as a giant buffet and I want to sample a taste of everything. "Mmmmm that Wabi Sabi looks delicious! Gimme a little of that Horror Vacui! Check out those fantastic Molas!" I completely reject the idea that one artform is superior to another due to what is in fashion at the moment. Art is timeless. If there's something I don't like too much, I try to keep in mind that I probably don't understand it, and that's a signal to me that I have something more to learn. There is always something more to learn. Thanks for visitng <3 Sharon Passmore
